Jerry Dwain Burton passed away at the age of 72, on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Born on July 4, 1952, in Washington, Missouri, Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. Burton and Marcella Ziemonn Burton.
He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft, spending many years as a maintenance manager at Castaway Apartments. Later he proudly owned and operated his own business, Complete Renovations, and retired after many successful years.
An avid pool player and karaoke singer, Jerry also shared his musical talents as a bassist and vocalist with his band at The Stardust. He never met a stranger and was always helping others. Jerry made friends easily, by showing compassion to everyone, including animals. But above all else, Jerry adored his beloved wife, Cathie A. Burton.
Jerry was a simple and casual man. To honor his memory in that spirit, the family requests that guests dress casually when attending his services—a reflection of the relaxed, genuine man he was.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Cathie A. Burton of Byron; children, Geri Baser (Jeff) of Union, Missouri, and Brian Hill of Warner Robins, Georgia; stepchildren, Andrew J. Ball, and Ashlie L. Guiterrez (Frank), all of Byron; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Smith (Roger) of New Mexico; and sister-in-law, Karen Sisk, of Warner Robins.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Jerry will be entombed at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Friends are welcome to come for fellowship and refreshments with the family at 301 Stonebrook Circle, Byron, Georgia 31008, after the entombment.
