Jerry Anthony Caldwell, 67, of Boise Idaho passed away suddenly at home on August 17th. Jerry, or Porky as grandma used to call him, was born and raised in Chicago Illinois by grandparents, David and Dolores Ramirez. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his infectious smile, kindness and unwavering faith in God.
Jerry had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a long-lasting impact on anyone who crossed his path. He made friendships that last and memories that will never be forgotten by the ones that love him. Growing up Jerry had many interests. He loved music and learned to play the guitar. He played hockey and was a goalie well into his 50s. Jerry collected cards, comics, cars, albums, toys, guns and so much more. Most importantly Jerry was a protective and caring Big Brother and that theme seemed to carry on throughout his life. For many years Jerry was a single father, though it wasn't easy, he worked very hard to accomplish his goals. As a father Jerry was stern and protective. He valued the special moments big and small. He especially loved holidays, Christmas was his favorite. He always gave the best gifts, he did the best Halloween makeup, and he always showed love for his family.
Jerry was a very smart and hard-working man. Along with wife Cyndy, Jerry fulfilled his dream of opening his own locksmith shop. It wasn't just work to him It was his life and his legacy. Although he worked very hard he loved what he did. With over 50 years in the business he was the very best. With Jerry's adventurous and free spirit he enjoyed hiking, fishing, woodworking, building, gardening, raising fish and even constructing his own aquariums. He often did these things with Cindy(wife) and Lucian(dog and best friend). Though all of these things brought him much joy, nothing compared to spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Jerry leaves behind his wife Cynthia; sons, Jerry Anthony Caldwell Jr (Rebecca) and Joseph Caldwell; daughter Suzann Caldwell (Jacob); grandchildren, Jade, Vaul Cano, Aiden, Jay, Jem, Julian, Jasmin, Maliya, and Willow; sisters Karen Compton (Don) and Kim Kremer(Mike). In addition Jerry will be missed by several cousins, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Although Jerry's physical presence will no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his adventurous and kind soul carry on in the hearts of his loved ones. May each memory be a blessing until we meet again.
