Jerry William Cash, born on October 24, 1951, in Granville County, North Carolina, passed away October 15, 2025, in Granville County after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 73 years old. Despite his illness, Jerry approached each day with a sense of humor, always finding a way to laugh and bring joy to those around him.
Jerry was a remarkable man who found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved spending time hunting with his friends and creating lasting memories with his family. Whether he was out in nature or sharing stories around the table, Jerry cherished every moment spent with the people he loved most. He also loved relaxing at home, watching classic shows like "Gunsmoke" and keeping up with the world though Fox News. His dedication to his work as a truck driver was matched only by his devotion to his family, friendship and the simple pleasures of life.
A beloved father, bonus father, grandfather, Jerry cherished the time he spent with his family. His laughter and warm demeanor left an indelible mark on his family and friends, fostering countless memories that they will hold dear.
He is survived by his spouse, Mildred Davis Cash, his son, Jonathan Cash (Megan), along with his bonus children, Tammy Raymer (Michael), Steve Perkins (Donna), and Michael Perkins (Lorrie). Jerry was also a proud grandparent to eight grandchildren (Macie, Addie, Brittany, Luke, Kaleigh, Chasity, Ambrea and Micheala) and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom benefitted from his love and guidance. He shared his life with his siblings, Ruth Matthews, Tim and Tom Cash.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Burley William Cash and Addie Belle Riggan Cash, his sister, Doris Cash and two daughters, Teri and Kelly Cash.
A funeral service will be held in his honor at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford, North Carolina, on October 19, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by a burial service at Grassy Creek Baptist Church in Bullock, North Carolina. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects as they remember a man who brought laughter to so many lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorials made to the charity of your choice. The Cash family is being cared for by the staff of Gentry-Newell & Vaughan of 503 College St, Oxford, NC 27565.
