Jerry Franklin

Funeral services for Jerry William Franklin, 69, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Southcrest Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. He died on August 28, 2006. Jerry William Franklin was born August 26, 1937 in Lubbock, TX to Melvin and Leta Franklin. He was a member of the first graduating class of Monterey High School, he attended Texas Tech and was a graduate of Arlington Baptist College. He retired from Sears after twenty-seven years of employment. He was ordained in Baptist ministry serving in Lubbock, Plainview and Slide, TX. Jerry was a Christian and was an active member of Southcrest Baptist Church. He served as a volunteer at Covenant Lakeside, Covenant Surgi-Center and Covenant Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Felix Franklin. Survivors include his sons, Keith W. Franklin of Lubbock and Kent W. Franklin of Athens, TX; three grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to Arlington Baptist College 3001 W. Division Street Arlington, Texas or to Southcrest Baptist Church. The family will receice friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Sanders Funeral Home.
