Jerry Morris Greer

Jerry Morris Greer, age 78 of Hampton, Georgia passed away June 13, 2024. Jerry and his twin brother, Terry, were born at home on May 11, 1946, in Hampton, Georgia. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Franklin Oris Greer and Sarah Lorene Morris Greer, his twin brother, Terry Oris Greer, and his sister, Sarah Rebecca Greer Brannan.

Jerry is survived by his brothers, Bobby Greer (Harriett) and Billy Greer, and his children, T. Allen Greer (Sharon), Angie Greer Cordle (Cecil) and William Kerry Morris (Katie). Jerry has eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a large extended family. He is also survived by his special friend and companion Glenda Elaine Jones.

Jerry became an Eagle Scout when he was growing up and was a Master Mason for 50 years (Scottish Rite 32nd Degree). Jerry's early career consisted of many years in the financial services industry. Later he became a general contractor and builder/developer. He loved to travel all over the world and was a kind and generous man to those in need. Jerry was prepared to meet eternity as his life in this world dictated.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life, but plans have not been made for that at present. He had wanted his body donated to Emory University Hospital, but the circumstances of his death made that impossible as he died in Montreal, Canada at the beginning of a family vacation. Jerry's ashes will be interred in his family plot in the McDonough City Cemetery.
