Jerry Ray Hendrix, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at NHC HealthCare in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest F. Hendrix and Dorthy Riggins Hendrix; and his children, Dawn Hendrix and Darrell Hendrix.
Jerry is survived by his family, including his daughter, Darlene (Matt) Schwind; his former wife of 36 years, Betty Lynn Howell; his siblings, Terry Hendrix, Donnie (Pat) Hendrix, Roger (Vickie) Hendrix, and Tracy Hendrix; his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Davis, Dylan Schwind, and Brannon Churchwell; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Nathan Morales, Adelaide Churchwell, and Gage Churchwell. He also leaves behind faithful pet, Roxie.
A 1961 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Jerry spent 45 years on the open road as a long-haul truck driver, a career that reflected his independence and love of travel. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games on his phone and laptop, collecting a variety of items, and exploring his interest in firearms.
Jerry will be remembered for his enduring spirit, his love for the road, and the time he shared with his family.
He will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens. Service details will be announced at a later time.
