ST. PARIS – Jerry Lynn Hobbs, 81 of St. Paris, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025 in Northwood Assisted Living, Springfield.
He was born on May 29, 1944 in Eagan, Tennessee, the son of the late Hobert and Agnes (Gibson) Hobbs.
Jerry worked as a skilled diesel mechanic. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and could often be found mowing grass or working with heavy equipment – things he truly enjoyed. He also liked to gamble from time to time.
Jerry was a devoted husband to Linda (Pumphrey) Hobbs and a loving father to his daughter, Angela (Roger) Stover. He was a proud grandfather to Jessee Wagner, Christopher Fent, Logan Stover, and Cody Stover, and great-grandfather to Lilah and Sophia Fent.
He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis Green, Juanita McLaughlin, Myrna Owen, Carolyn Karnehm, and Mary Katherine Marcum; his stepdaughter, Melissa (Jay) Garwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his son, Donald Hobbs and brothers, Carl and Clyde Hobbs.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025 in ATKINS, SHIVELY, VERNON Funeral Home, St. Paris, Ohio.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery, Conover, Ohio, with Pastor Jeremy Spence officiating.
