Jerry Lynn Holten, 76, of Muncie, IN, joined his Lord and Savior in Glory on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Bethel Pointe, in Muncie, IN. Jerry was born in Muncie, IN, a son of the late Myrtle (Harty) and Robert Holten. He was a 1966 graduate of Muncie Central High School, proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Army and attended Ball State Nursing College upon his return from service. Jerry was the loving husband of the late Cheryl A. Holten who he happily married on October 6, 1983, and sadly lost on June 21, 2017. As a devoted man of God, Jerry was the pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of Dunkirk from 1993-2019, served as recreation director at the UPC Campground for over 20 years, shared God's love through puppet shows and children's ministry for over 40 years, loved his church, serving and giving to those in need. Jerry enjoyed caring for animals of all types, spending time with his family and working hard with his God given talents. He is survived by his son Jason Holten (Shelby), 4 daughters: Julie Haffner, Rhonda Adams (Tony), Angie Thrasher (Matt), Brittany Davis (Thomas), 1 brother: Robert Holten (Madonna), 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cheryl, brother: Carl Holten, infant brother: Jesse Holten, and sister: Judy Matchett. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 11-1 at the Family Worship Center (200 E. Elder St. Portland, IN. 47371). Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Reverend Tony Adams officiating. Burial and military honors will be held in Marion National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to INUPC Campgrounds (Indiana Conference Training Center at 1900 E. Broadway St. Fortville, IN. 46040) or (INDIANACAMP.INUPCI.ORG). Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
