Mary Helen Spurlock, 86, of Muncie, IN, formerly of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, peacefully at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Mary was born in Clark Range, TN, on December 26, 1938, a daughter of the late Elsie (Todd) and Benton Brumblough. She attended Clark Range Schools in TN followed by IU Ft. Wayne for a degree in Labor Law. Mary was formerly employed by Miller's Merry Manor in the Food Service & Nutrition Department, as well as Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. She was a member of Freewill Baptist, Mt. Olive Baptist, and more recently attended True Light Church in Muncie, IN. Mary enjoyed camping, going to church, listening to music, cooking, flowers, thrifting, traveling, playing cards, BINGO, Euchre, Scrabble, collecting pottery, watching her daily soaps, and her years in Florida. She will be remembered by those who loved and knew her as a wise, kindhearted, caring, loving, determined woman of God who cherished her family dearly. Mary is survived by her husband Charles L. Spurlock, daughter Deloris Faye Corey (Tom), 2 sons: Terry W. McCowan (Lana), Gary L. McCowan (Susie), 2 stepdaughters: Diana Bicknell (Larry), Teresa Sole, several grand, step grand, great grand, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ora Richard Mock, 2 brothers: Obed Brumblough, and James L. Brumblough. Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN, with Pastor Jason Trimble officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
