Jerry Elliott Hutchins passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27th, 2025 at his home in Bitely, Michigan. Born in Wisconsin on Friday, June 18th, 1948, Jerry lived a life filled with adventure, and integrity.

He served his country honorably as a Crew Chief in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a testament to his courage and commitment. Following his military service, Jerry dedicated his career to being a Metal Molding Specialist, a profession where he was known for his expertise and reliability.

In his personal life, Jerry was a man of the great outdoors. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, bicycling, kayaking, and camping. These interests reflected his profound love of nature, of which he had great knowledge and shared with his family and friends. He was known for his high morals and was well thought of by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Tara Hutchins-Meyer, cousin, Alton Slay Jr., friends Roger Byrd, Robert and Cheryl Johnston, Dick Smith, and Susan Brady. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Jane Hutchins. For those who knew him and those he touched, his legacy of kindness and integrity will endure.

Arrangements are being handled by Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Animal Welfare Organizations.
