Jerry Johnson passed away June 16, 2025. He was born on October 5, 1942 in Sturgis, KY, to the late Hubert and Garnette Sales Johnson. Jerry grew up in Madisonville and served in the Army. He retired from AT&T as a Fiber Optic Specialist in Owensboro and enjoyed his family, cars, music, and a good cigar. Jerry especially enjoyed playing the Blues on his harmonica.
Jerry is preceded in death by his sister, Berta Devine; son, Jason Yeiser, and grandson, Austin Yeiser.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Becky Gerteisen Johnson; daughters, Jennifer Johnson Stewart and Natalie Yeiser Sigler (Matthew); sons, Jeremiah Johnson (Jessica) and Heath Greenwell (Tina); grandchildren Erin Haley (Sean), Alex Faith, Hannah King, Jayden Johnson, Phoenix Johnson, Eden Yeiser Brewington (Jared), Owen Sigler, Dillon Sigler, Jacob Yeiser, Lauren Greenwell, Matthew Greenwell, and Brooke Greenwell; great-grandchildren Sophie, Violet, Beckett, Jasper, Asher, Jack, Alli, Justize, Eli, Serenity, Bella, and Peyton; niece, Jan Palmer and her children John Palmer (Jenna) and Katie Palmer.
Great appreciation to Dr Ben Keeley and the staff at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, especially Hannah, Alicia, Emily, and Brittany, on the 6th floor for outstanding care and kindness during his fifteen days there.
The service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.
