Jerry Lee Kessinger, 90, of Flatwoods, KY, went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2025, at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1935, in Friendship, Ohio, to the late Clare "Pete" Kessinger and Dora Bell Miller Kessinger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Kessinger and Timothy Kessinger.

Jerry had a wide range of passions and a personality full of humor and charm. He loved trains, photography, tinkering with computers, and building model airplanes. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, UK basketball, and the Bengals, though he also enjoyed complaining about them just as much as cheering them on. He had a love for music, from bluegrass to big band, and was a perfectionist when it came to drawing and painting. Jerry was also known for his spaghetti dinners and for being the "Amazon King," always shopping for treasures online. His puppy, Mollie, brought him great joy and companionship.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Lions Club, where he enjoyed fellowship and serving others.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Rose Morris; son, Jerry II (Jeanne) Kessinger; daughter, Rebecca Kessinger; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jerry) George and Scott (Yvette) Worthington; and great-grandchildren, Drew (Belle) Williams, Abigail (Isaiah) Sligar, Alyssa (James) Thurman, Dylan Blevins, Elijah Worthington, Destyni Tennison, and Alyssa Littlejohn; and great-great-grandchildren, Lucas Thurman and Ella Perry. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

A memorial life celebration honoring Jerry's life will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Russell, Kentucky. Dinner will follow at the church.
