Jerry Lee Lemmons passed from this life on April 12, 2024, at the age of 79, in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Jerry was born on August 20, 1944, in Hominy, Oklahoma, the son of Jack Wilber, Sr., and Juanita Opal (Adams) Lemmons. Jerry grew up in Cleveland, where he attended school, and later graduated from Cleveland High School. On Nov. 13, 1961, Jerry was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Sharpnack at the Nazarene Church in Hominy, Oklahoma. They bought some land and a herd of cattle, and River Bend Ranch was born. Along with Sharon, Jerry began following the pipeline as the head of the right-of-way crew, but farming and ranching were his passion. As Jerry and Sharon traveled throughout the United States, Jerry’s brother Jack helped maintain the farm until the family returned to Cleveland for good in 1968. Jerry also spent time working in the construction business, and later worked at Osage Oil as dozer operator and spent over a decade working for Osage County. Upon his “official” retirement, Jerry expanded his ranch and operated it full time. After over a half-century in the cattle ranching business, Jerry and Sharon moved to town in 2014.

Jerry was the USDA FSA representative for the southern part of Osage County for many years, and was an avid supporter of the Cleveland FFA program. He loved being outdoors, working on his farm and tending to the cattle. Being with his family was always important to Jerry; however, his grandkids were his pride and joy. Joseph’s Steak House in Drumright was one of his favorite restaurants, and he made many memories enjoying a steak and tabouli alongside family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Sharon, of the home; daughter Terri Cheek and her husband, Paul, of Cleveland, Oklahoma; siblings Jack Lemmons and wife Deanna of Cleveland, and Brenda Bridges of Cleveland; five grandchildren: Amber Wolff and husband James, Shannan Mackey and husband Zac, Stephanie Cruzen and husband Chris, Jason Cheek and wife Tracy, and Adam Cheek and wife Tiffany; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Scott Lemmons; and by his siblings Lois Dobbins, Carl Dean Lemmons and Sammy Lemmons.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on April 16, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Cleveland, with Pastor Gary Davis officiating services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in Jerry’s honor to the Scott Lemmons Memorial Scholarship at BlueSky Bank. Following services, the burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma, with Chapman-Black Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
