Jerry was raised in Camden County and was a graduate of Camdenton, High School. He attended Missouri University one year before moving to Pueblo, Colorado. Shortly after his schooling Jerry began his life time career as a journeyman Bricklayer as well as a stint as a steel mill worker in and was a park of CIO Union.
Jerry served two years as a Navy Seabee and spent most of the time on the island of Guam rebuilding it after a hurricane. While on the island he was a member of the golf, softball and basketball teams. After an honorable discharge, he returned to Camdenton and started his career as a brick mason. His work as a bricklayer was exceptional and Jerry took a lot of pride in his work.

In his spare time, you could always find Jerry enjoying music as he was an avid guitar player. If not listening or performing music Jerry loved to fish, hunt and play a good game of golf as a member of the Lake Valley Golf Club. Jerry stayed active in his community as well.
