Mr. Jerry D. Luke

Mr. Jerry D. Luke, 75, of Sylvester died Tuesday November 23, 2010 at Phoebe Putney memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday at First Baptist Church with interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemeter with Dr. Ben Bush officiating. Mr. Luke was born in Turner County, to the late Gus and Leone Vanzant Luke. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and was a retired loan officer having worked at Bank Worth County/ Suntrust Bank and Sylvester Banking Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran on the Korean War, a former Scout Master and member of First Baptist Church and the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Folsom Luke, of Sylvester; daughters, Cindy L. Jones (Larry), of Sylvester; Lisa L. Turpin (Frank “Bucky�), of Albany; Deana L. Dean (Kevin), of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Becky Cannon, Bethany Dixon, Brittany Farren, Luke Jones, Beau Turpin, Alexa Turpin, Danielle Dean & Dillon Dean; great-grandchildren, Shelby Cannon, Presley Cannon, Isabella Dixon & Peyton Farren; brother, Larry Luke (Linda), of Atlanta; & his faithful companion Max. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
