Jerry Lynn Younce, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born on March 21, 1945, to Burette Edward Younce and Francis Younce, who preceded him in death. His love for the outdoors and "running the roads," invariably in his trademark white Toyota, always a sight to behold on the streets of Hudson.
He found the greatest joy in sharing his love for classic cars with his two sons, instilling in them the same appreciation for history and craftsmanship. Never one to remain still, Jerry could often be found cruising on his golf cart at the Green Street Mountain Resort, where his kind-hearted check-ins and joyful spirit made everyone's day a bit brighter. His trips were also marked by tales of camping getaways and rounds of golf with friends and loved ones, showcasing his zest for life's simple pleasures, because “It is what it is.”
A devout man of faith, Jerry's life was anchored in love and devotion to God. His unwavering belief guided him through life and was a beacon to others, a testament to the enduring power of faith and love. Above all, Jerry cherished his family, safeguarding their hearts with his boundless love, and leaving a legacy of grace and devotion that will forever inspire those he leaves behind.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Rose Etta Younce of Hudson, NC, whose partnership beside him was an unwavering source of strength and companionship. Two sons, Todd Younce (Marie) and Brian Younce (Kristie), his beloved granddaughters, Sydney Younce and Ella Younce. Sisters; Shelby Poe (Marcus), Sandra Oliver (Charles), Sharon Wegner (Petey), and Mary Jordan (Terry).
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers; William Younce and Edward Younce. One sister, Charlotte Parker.
