Jerry Mart, 80, of Knoxville, passed away at home on July 28, 2025. A short service will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life gathering until 6:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home (corner of Main and Harlan) in Knoxville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospitals.

Jerry David Mart was born October 25, 1944, in Knoxville, Iowa, to James and Effie Mart. He was raised on a small rural farm and attended Knoxville community Schools. On October 11, 1974, Jerry married Judith Provenzano, whom he was with for 50 years until he sadly passed away.

After 26 years working at Maytag, Jerry retired and spent most of his life working as a carpenter, before, during and after, his job at Maytag. Before his retirement, Jerry had even helped build several houses over the years, two of them being his own that he lived in with his wife Judy and the family they had.

Many of Jerrys favorite things in life consisted of spending time with his family, both immediate and extended family. He enjoyed traveling and camping with Judy and making wooden crafts for his children and later on, his grandchildren. Every year, Jerry looked forward to hosting the annual Christmas breakfast for his children and their families for as many years as they can remember.

Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife, Judy Mart; children: Tami (Tom) Kramer, Tay (Steve) Vandekamp, Tab Mart, Tara (Lyndon) Hinerman, Trever Mart, Jason (Matt) Mart, and Julie (Kelly) LaFollette; 13 grandchildren: Josh, Nick, Chandler, Austin, Sage, Austin, Colton, Stephanie, Tiffany, Alexis, Delaney, Silas, and Amelia; 16 great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

Preceding Jerry in death were his parents: James and Effie Mart; son, Troy Mart, and grandson, Caleb LaFollette; and parents-in-law, Paul and Bernice Provenzano; brother, Norman Mart and sister-in-law, Alberta Mart; brother, Marion Mart, sister, Beverly Westman and brother-in-law, Marrian Westman, brother-in-law, Richard Provenzano, brother-in-law, James Provenzano, and sister-in-law, Linda Provenzano.
