Jerry Everett Mikel, 52, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2026 at his residence.
Born on September 1, 1973, in Columbia City, he was the beloved son of Timothy and Noma Ruth (Bays) Mikel.
He would start his career after high school at Slate Auto of Warsaw as a skilled Boiler Operator. Anyone that knew Jerry would say he was dedicated to work and providing for his family.
When he would take time to relax, he was at home watching University of Michigan Wolverine Football. Jerry was a collector of old tractors and vintage farm equipment. He also had quite a collection of old tools. He loved tinkering with all the things he collected and shared those times with his children, which he loved beyond words. Jerry also enjoyed going on long rides on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Jerry will be remembered by his twin sons; Alek (Alexus) Mikel of Denver, IN and Ben Mikel of Abilene, TX, his daughter, Olivia Mikel (Danny) of Claypool, IN, and sister Melissa Mikel.
He is preceded in death by his father Timothy (2024) and mother Noma (2007).
A visitation in Jerry’s honor will be held on Friday, January 16th, 2026 from 3-6pm, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw.
