Williams Funeral Home & Crematory - ColumbiaJerry Lee Minor, 84, of Columbia, TN, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025.
Born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Jerry was the son of the late Carl and Ann Marie Minor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Minor; his second wife, Alana Minor; and his sister, Barbara Ann (Don) Awalt.
Jerry is lovingly remembered by his sons, Jason (Kathy) Minor and Paul (Jai) Minor. He is also survived by Jason’s stepson, Kyle Peters; Paul’s daughter, Gabriella “GG” Minor; and Paul’s stepson, Jack Bacus. He leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome. His warm, friendly nature and easy conversation left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
A hardworking man, Jerry retired from General Motors in 1993. He continued to stay active with positions at PSC Factory and the Maury County Convenience Centers. Known for his strong work ethic and hands-on nature, Jerry was always ready to tinker and repair anything he could — and more than willing to pass that know-how on to his sons.
Jerry had a deep appreciation for gospel music, often enjoying quiet moments on his front porch swing, letting the melodies wash over him. He was also an avid car enthusiast, especially fond of Chevy vehicles, and loved attending car shows whenever he could.
A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Columbia, Jerry took great pride in serving his church community — whether by helping with groundskeeping or lending a hand wherever it was needed.
Family was at the heart of Jerry’s life. He never missed an opportunity to support his sons, particularly in their sports endeavors. Whether cheering from the sidelines or driving the team bus to ensure safe travel, Jerry was present and involved.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Jerry’s memory.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab for the compassionate care given to Jerry.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home Columbia Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the service beginning at 12 noon.
