Jerry Burton Olsen, age 87, passed away on January 27, 2026. He was born on August 9, 1938, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to James and Maude (Brown) Olsen.
Jerry spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver, a line of work that suited his independence and work ethic. Later in life, he began working for DART, where he remained until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maude Olsen; his siblings, George, Jean, Dick, Don, and Jim; his wife, Martha Olsen; and his daughters, Angela and Barbara Jean.
Jerry is survived by his children, Jimmy, Felica and Darla as well as his siblings, Stan and Harriet as well as many grandkids, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, with a charity to be named at a later date.
A memorial service is planned for July at Eagle Vision Church . Please check back for updated service information.
