Jerry Lynn Patterson
Sweetwater, TN — May 17, 1955 – October 7, 2025
Jerry Lynn Patterson of Sweetwater, Tennessee, passed away at home on October 7, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most.
Born May 17, 1955, Jerry lived a full, hardworking life built around family, friendship, and simple joys. He is survived by his three daughters, Jerline Letsinger (Greg) of Bradley County, Angeline Irwin (Jimmy) of LaFollette, Tennessee and Crystal Duncan of Anderson County; three grandchildren, Kristen Loy (Warren) of Knox County, Autumn Hurley (Austin) of Cocke County, and William Ladd of Knox County; and three great-grandchildren, Tucker and Wrenley Loy, and Liam Hurley.
He also leaves behind his brothers, David Patterson (Debbie) and Layton Patterson, both of Dalton, Georgia; his sister, Linda Patterson (Coy) of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee; and his longtime companion, Alice Ashe. His circle of friends was more like family — including Donnie Dunn, Vickie Braden, and Craig Taylor.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Roxie Patterson of Anderson County, and his brothers Rexie, Daniel, and Greefus Patterson.
For many years, Jerry worked as a poultry farmer — a job that fit his hands-on nature. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix or build. He loved watching old Westerns, fishing, digging ginseng, and playing darts with friends and family. He was also a lifelong Elvis fan, proud of his collection of records and memorabilia that showed just how much “The King” meant to him.
He was caring, loyal, and stubborn in the best way — a man who loved big and didn’t quit easy. Jerry will be deeply missed, but his presence and the stories he left behind will be felt for a long, long time.
Graveside service: 1:00PM, Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Bill Patterson Cemetery in New River, TN.
