Jerry Lee Payne’s – Obituary

Our Beloved Father, Brother, & Friend, Jerry Lee Payne – AKA Jer –

passed away unexpectedly at his home, September 13, 2025.

Jerry was born on April 9 th , 1970, in Seattle, WA to his wonderful parents

Shirley and Lonnie Sr. Payne. He was the second child of 3 children, his

oldest brother Lonnie Jr. and youngest brother Troy.

As a child and teen, Jerry attended several schools throughout the Yakima

Valley and graduated from Davis High School in 1988. After high school,

Jerry moved away from the Yakima Valley and resided in Pocatello, Idaho

where he started his trade and became an outstanding Electrical

Automative Mechanic. While living in Pocatello, Idaho, Jerry married Lisa

on September 3, 1994 (later divorced) and started a family. Jerry’s first

child, Cody Lee Payne was born on December 3, 1994 in Pocatello, Idaho.

After having his first son, Jerry recognized that now he had a legacy to

lead, and he decided that he wanted to raise his children around family.

Jerry moved his small family back to the Yakima Valley in October of 1996.

Jerry continued his trade as an Electrical Automotive Mechanic and started

working for Yakima Battery and Electric in 1996. Jerry was known for his

exceptional work ethics, loyalty and commitment. Like so many of Jerry’s

life-long relationships, Jerry worked for Carl Jennerjohn for 29 years. He

was a dedicated employee and was still employed by Yakima Battery at the

time of his passing.

Along with being a dedicated employee, Jerry was also a dedicated father.

He became a “Daddy” for the second time on September 7 th , 2001. His

daughter Victoria “Tori” Payne came into the world and from the first touch

to the first words, to the first steps – Jerry’s heart was wrapped around his

little girl. Jerry wanted with everything in his heart to see both of his

children thrive and succeed.

Jerry will be forever known and remembered for his Passion. He was

passionate about his Family, Snowmobiling and Playing Pool. Jerry’s Pool

Community was his extended family and playing Pool was the catalyst that

helped him formulate great friendships with So many people. And Jerry’s

Passion for Snowmobiling was Evident by his Facebook page where he

would count down the months, weeks, and days before Snowmobiling

Season was here.

Jerry is survived by his children – Daughter, Tori Payne, Son, Cody Payne,

Daughter-in-Law Alesha Payne. His Brother Lonnie (Sharon) Payne and
