Jerry D. Phenis, 84, of Winchester, passed away on Thanksgiving morning at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

Jerry was born on September 23, 1941, in Lynn, to the late Roscoe and Addie Phenis. He was 1961 graduate of Lynn High School. Jerry worked as a nursing home maintenance supervisor.

Jerry is survived by three children, Tom Phenis, Sherry Dabe (Jeff), and Randy Phenis (wife Vicki); seven grandchildren, Tiffany Martin (Jim), Storm Phenis (Mindy), Ryan Phenis (Brittany), Angelica Cuervo (Michel), Krista Halley (Kurtis), Mike Dabe (Kassie), and Mason Phenis (Katie); eight siblings, Patsy Tipton, Marylyn Gambrel, Ronnie Phenis, Danny Phenis, Terry Phenis, Patricia Jones, Eddie Phenis, and Roberta Phenis; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Phenis, in 2003; a son, Mark Phenis; and six siblings, Roscoe Phenis, Geneva Phenis, Larry Phenis, Dewayne Phenis, Donna Reed, and David Phenis.

A funeral service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Winchester United Pentecostal Church, 460 Elm St. in Winchester. Pastor Greg Pruett will officiate. Burial will be in Fountain Park Cemetery. Dinner will follow services at the Winchester Moose Lodge.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Winchester United Pentecostal Church.
