Donna Lucille Phenis, 91, of Winchester, Indiana, passed away Saturday, 02/21/2026,
with her family by her side. Lucille was born July 9, 1934, in Mintonville, Kentucky, to the
late James Arthur and Mary Marie (Wesley) Pittman. She spent most of her adult life as
a homemaker, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Lucille was a nurturer with a strong love for her family and God. She is remembered
fondly by those who loved her most, for her great sense of humor, kind heart, and
infectious laugh.
Lucille is survived by her husband of nearly 75 years, Ernie Phenis; children, Sharon
Carter of Richmond, Indiana, Dale (wife Patty) Phenis of Marion, Indiana, Melissa
(husband Phil) Parker of Martinsville, Indiana, and Richard (wife Amber) Phenis of
Temple, Texas; grandchildren, Eric (wife Stephanie) Overmyer, Angie (husband Terry)
Miller, Julie Overmyer, Latorya (husband Rogerichkus) Allen, Jennifer (husband Travis)
Isaacs, Andrew (wife Daisy) Carter, Nicholas (wife Jasmine) Phenis, Krystal Phenis,
Cassandra Phenis, Seth (wife Sarah) Parker, Zachary (wife Lauryn) Parker, and Zayden
Phenis; and 4 siblings, Mildred Siebert, Janet (husband Bob) Whitted, Larry Pittman,
and Rick (wife Melissa) Pittman. She had 12 great grandchildren and 3 great, great
grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her brothers Louis Don, Delmer, Danny,
and Ernest, her eldest child, Vickie Phenis, son-in-law Bill Carter, and grandchildren
Paige Phenis and Amber Phenis.
A private ceremony was held at Walker Funeral Home, in Winchester, IN, with Pastor
Danny K. Hines officiating, and Lucille was laid to rest at the Fountain Park Cemetery
surrounded by several of her closest family members, friends, and loved ones. Lucille
loved and was loved by so many, and she will be dearly missed. May she rest now in
peace, with her Lord and Savior in Heaven.
