Jerry Allen Plotts

Jerry Allen Plotts, 71, of Grove City, passed away on July 15, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born in Bluffton, Ohio on January 9, 1954 to the late Elmoyn and Donna (Myers) Plotts. Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Doris “Dee Dee” Drake on September 2, 1972, and she survives.

Along with his loving wife of over 52 years, Jerry is survived by son, Adam (Cara) Plotts; daughter, Alison Tobias; five grandchildren, Avery, Maddie, Savannah, Myles, and Tucker; siblings, John (late, Pam) Plotts, Judy (Ray) Bock, and Jeff (Tammy) Plotts, sister-in-law Jenny Drake; and many other family members and friends.

Along with his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by mother-in-law, Irene Drake; sister-in-law, Pam; and brother-in-law, John Drake.

Jerry graduated from Franklin Heights High School in 1972. He went on to work and retired from John Deere after 30 years. He also co-owned A&J Lawn Care with his son and brother for 25 years.

Jerry was a dedicated family man; his pride and joy was his family. He never missed a chance to support his kids and grandchildren. Family was important to the point of yearly trips to the beach with his family; which Dee Dee and Jerry continued once everyone had grown.

Jerry was an avid deer hunter who found joy and peace in the woods. He hunted in Jackson, Ohio where he eventually built a cabin with his son and brother. Whether hunting, walking in the woods, riding quads, or napping on the couch, it became a treasured place where stories were shared and memories were made.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 10am to 12pm, Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions – Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A time to share will be held at 12pm, Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Township Fire Cares Program, P.O. Box 517, Grove City, OH 43123.
