Jerry J. Rogers

Jerry J. Rogers, 89, died Saturday April 13th, 2024, at Cooper Wood in Flowood, Mississippi. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Sebrell Funeral Home visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Rogers was born May 11, 1934, in Jackson, TN, to the late John and Myrtle Rogers. He attended Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
A veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy and served on the U.S.S. Cascade and in the JAG as a court reporter. He retired from AT&T where he worked as a switchman.
Mr. Rogers was active in his church, he led the singing for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing. More than anything, he cherished spending tine with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded by his parents, John and Myrtle Rogers, brother, Jack Rogers and grandson, Aaron Smith.
Survivors include:: daughter, Beth Rogers of Ridgeland; son, Mark Rogers and wife Renee of Seminary; Kathy Holden and her husband Chip of Richland. Grandchildren, Christian Smith and her husband Joey of Seminary; Stephen Smith of Pearl; Allly Bates and her husband, Justin of Flowood; Cage Peterson of Flowood; Chance Holden and his wife, Taylor of Brookhaven and Garrett Holden and wife Rhaghan of Bogue Chitta; Mallory Holden of Brookhaven; Arrington Coggins and husband, John of Columbus; 10 great grandchildren;
