- Our much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, returned to his heavenly home the morning of August 7, 2025.

Jerry's family was his everything and he was always present at events in his children and grandchildren's lives; He was their biggest cheerleader! He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps. He loved his country and the freedom that so many have fought for.

He married Joan Bradshaw in 1961 and had four children. They lived in Sandy their entire marriage and have many wonderful friendships developed over the years. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many various callings.

He owned and operated Cottage Real Estate and Construction for 38 years and served as General Manager for Sandy Suburban. He was respected and known as an honest and fair businessman. Over the years he served in Scouting and enjoyed working with the youth and is loved by many that he mentored.

Jerry loved his horses and was a cowboy at heart! In later years, his passion was his fishing boat and times on the lake with his friends and family. He couldn't wait for the next fishing trip!

He is survived by his wife, Joan, children Brad Simons, Holly (Dan) Baker, Kyle (Angie) Simons, Anne (Greg) Weichers, 15 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Earl and Zelpha Simons.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Hillcrest 4th Ward, 8735 South Harvard Park Drive, Sandy, Utah. Viewings will be held at the church on Monday, August 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 – 10:45 am. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
