Absolutely one of the finest people to help shape my life. I will always remember Coach and the character that he instilled in his players and students. "One of a kind" is used to describe special personalities and he very much was special.

I will always remember how he treated my wife when she was a counselor at Dobie High School. With much dignity and respect. And his honesty with people. He loved his family and friends dearly and would do anything for them.

There was never a time I was around Jerry that he didn´t make me smile or laugh, that was his magic. We would talk about our love for Texas hill country, which towns were our favorite and when we would visit them next. He told me about things on his bucket list and shared the story about tattoo. At work I often could sneak up on him while he was doing his sudoku and listening to his politics on AM radio. He reminded me of my grandpa that I lost too early in life, the wisdom and stories he shared will stay with me forever. To know him was to love him and he will be incredibly missed.
