It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Strope Jr., beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on October 4, 1970, in Paragould, Jerry's life was a testament to kindness, passion, and deep love for those around him.
Jerry was known affectionately by many as Jerry, Jerry Lee, or Lil Jerry. He cherished the simple pleasures in life, finding joy in the great outdoors through hunting and fishing. His workshop, a sanctuary for creativity and camaraderie, often welcomed friends who would join him for lively games of chess, watching TV, and enjoying the tranquil sight of deer wandering just outside.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Jerry took great pride in his motorcycle and pickup truck, spending countless hours working on them and reveling in the freedom of the open road. His family remarked on his immense heart, remembering him as a dedicated man who selflessly gave to others, embodying the phrase, "He was our all because he did it all." Jerry's love for his family was unparalleled, standing as a beacon of strength and affection in their lives.
He shared a special bond with his cousin, William, who fondly recalls their time spent together in the shop, learning valuable life skills. Jerry affectionately called William "Lil Monkey," and William often noted that Jerry wasn't just teaching him practical skills-he was imparting lessons in survival.
Jerry held a deep faith, being a proud member of the Baptist community, finding solace and strength in his love for Jesus. His spirituality enriched his life and the lives of those around him, offering a sense of hope and connection whether he realized it or not.
Jerry spent many waking hours with his best friend, Jett, a Belgian Malinois, who was his faithful sidekick. The two were inseparable and shared a bond stronger than most.
Jerry is survived by his parents, Jerry, Sr. and Linda Strope, and his sister, Gayla Strope.
A visitation will take place at Heath Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
