It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Allen Ricker, Sr., who departed this life on March 27, 2026, at the age of 69. Roger was born on June 3, 1956, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, and spent his early adult years dedicated to his craft as a carpenter and painter in the construction industry. He was also a loving daddy, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
Roger was known for his caring nature and generous spirit; he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His family meant the world to him, he married his belated wife Sherrie Ricker (Furgeson) and he cherished the bond he built with their three children, Tiffany Ricker Cruz, Roger Ricker, Jr., and Charity Ricker Hogan. He is also survived by his brother, David Ricker, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roger shared an especially close relationship with his twin brother, Bobby, as they not only wore their beards alike but also shared tattoos that signified their unique bond.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Sherrie Ricker Furgeson; father, Bobby Long; mother, Mary Henson; son, Michael Henson; and his twin brother, Bobby Ricker, Sr.
A lover of the outdoors, Roger found joy in family barbecues, riding around, soaking up the sun, fishing, and observing nature, particularly while duck watching. He would often go on trips to Walcott with his cousin Connie, who he loved spending time with. Those who knew him regarded him as "a good ole dude," a testament to his warm and approachable demeanor.
Roger will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who loved him.
