Jerry Lee Sumner

Mr. Jerry L. Sumner, II, age 65, of Millsboro, Delaware passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Delaware.
Born in Greenfield, Ohio, a son of Carolina Grose and Jerry Lee Sumner, I. He graduated from McClain High School, Class of 1979.
Prior to retirement, Jerry was a records archivist for M & T Bank.
Jerry used to enjoy the nightlife in Rehoboth Beach as well as enjoying summer time activities in the area. Later in life, he enjoyed his pets and spending time at home doing odd jobs making the place better. Over the years, Jerry self-built and enjoyed flight simulators piloting several types of aircrafts. Jerry enjoyed traveling when he could, visiting family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Carolina and Donald Everhart (stepfather) as well as his two brothers, Dennis and Mark.
Jerry is survived by his loving husband of 24 years, Craig Phillips; his daughters, Caitlin Wheatey and Whitney Sumner; his three grandchildren, Olivia K Grewe, Amelia M. Wheatley, Eleanor M. Wheatley and his beloved grand pup Lincoln Gideon Sumner and his grand cat, Sabastian Abraham Sumner.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services.
Services will be scheduled in the spring at the convenience of the family, updated information will be provided at that time.
