Mr. Jerry Stephens Temples, 77, of Hartwell passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Born on December 8, 1947 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late George Temples and Dorothy Jo Richardson Temples. Jerry was a retired master electrician and was a supervisor at Monroe/Tenneco. He was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the US Army. Jerry was a very talented, self-taught artist and musician. He also loved to ride around his pasture checking on the cows and fences.
Survivors include his two sons: Brandy S. Temples (Robin) of Hogansville, GA and Cameron Temples (Brooke) of Hartwell; one sister: Joy T. Rousey of Royston; two grandchildren; Faith Temples (Marcus Walley) and Brooke Crawford (Logan); three great-grandchildren: Peyton Hogg, Marcus Walley III, and Mason Crawford; and a close friend, Rufus Holland, for all his time, care, and patience.
Mr. Temples is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Rita Elaine McCurley Temples; and two brothers: Randy Temples and Ronnie Temples.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at 863 Bio Lane, Hartwell.
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Temples will be held Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jason Holliman and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
