1943-2025
Stanberry, MO: Jerry Lee Thomas, 82, Stanberry, MO passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at his home.
He was born on May 7, 1943, in Stanberry, MO the son of Herbert and Mary (Rice) Thomas.
On February 28, 1964, he married Ruth Ann Grapes in Moberly, MO. She survives of the home.
Jerry attended barber college in Kansas City, MO and went on to own and operate Jerry's Barber Shop in Stanberry, MO. He served in the National Guard in Moberly and was a very active member of the Stanberry First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bill Thomas.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his sons, Ronnie (Dina) Thomas, Albany, MO, Mark Thomas, Stanberry, MO; daughter, Lisa (Jim) Curran, Fillmore, MO; grandchildren, Blake (Emily) Thomas, Stanberry, MO, Katie (Riley) Gossling, Stanberry, MO, Thomas Curran, Fillmore, MO, Brittany Thomas, Maryville, MO, Joseph (Averi) Curran, Oregon, MO, and Jacob (Jordan) Curran, St. Joseph, MO; eight great grandchildren; and sisters, Shirly (Jerry) Talmadge, Maryville, MO, and Jean (John) Miller, Holden, MO.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, at the First Baptist Church, Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Stanberry in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, Stanberry, MO 64489. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
