The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow at Center Grove Church Cemetery in Jackson County,
Jerry was born August 25, 1958, in Gainesville, Georgia. He was the son of James Verl Tipton, Sr. and Bernice (Parker) Tipton. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and was the owner of Tipton Home Builders, for the past 40 years. He was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents; Verl and Bernice Tipton; brother and sister-in-law, James and Ana Maria Tipton; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Mark Kelly; son, Josh Tipton, daughter, Hannah Perez; grandchildren, Gracie, Walker, Abbie, Willow and many other family and friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Transformation Church, P.O. Box 907973, Gainesville, Georgia 30501; or Springway Baptist Church, 2743 Old Cornelia Highway, Gainesville, Georgia 30507.
