It is with profound sadness and heartfelt reflection that we announce the passing of Jerry O. Tolley on December 24, 2024, at the age of 79. Jerry is the son of the late Olin and Earlean (Shrum) Tolley. He was born on February 25, 1945 and was married to the love of his life, Diane (Heath) Tolley whom has preceded him.

Born and raised with a lifelong love for the game, Jerry was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. From attending games as a young man to savoring every televised moment as he grew older, his unwavering support for the Cardinals was a defining aspect of his character. He found joy in the camaraderie of baseball, embodying the true spirit of a loyal fan who never missed a game.

Beyond his love for baseball, Jerry was an avid fisherman who cherished time spent outdoors. These moments by the water were a testament to his appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures in life. More importantly, Jerry's heart was firmly rooted in family. He loved his family fiercely.

Jerry dedicated a significant portion of his life devotedly working at Color Press in Effingham, Illinois, where he earned the respect and admiration of his coworkers. His commitment and hard work led him to retire with pride, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and integrity.

Surviving Jerry are his children, Rhonda Wesley, Theresa Edwards (Jason), Beverly Tripp (Bradley) and Mindy Weddle (Dennis); 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Earlean Tolley;and siblings, Linda Mullinax and Marvin Richardson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 at 1:30 pm eastern time at Arborcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Effingaham, Illinois.

Though Jerry may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in our hearts and the memories we shared. We take comfort in knowing that he has found peace and is surrounded by the love he so deeply valued. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Jerry.
