Jerry Jule Ullom, 88, of Shell Lake died on March 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 24, 1936, in Shell Lake, WI, to Thomas and Marie (Adams) Ullom, II. Jerry met the love of his life at the Indian Creek dance hall. He was married in Barronett, WI, on July 11, 1959, to Shirley Hohweiler.
Jerry began cultivating and growing the family farm at an early age. He was not a man who liked to sit still and went to work on the railroad in Superior for a time. Jerry was always willing to lend a hand with any farmer in need to help during harvest time. He also served on the ASCS board for many years. He later worked as a school bus driver for the Shell Lake School District.
Jerry always took time to chew the cud with anyone who would indulge him. He enjoyed being able to travel through the eyes of others. But when he had someone to tend to the cows, Jerry relished his opportunities to travel and attend several country festivals. He liked spending time with his brother at auctions seeking out bargains.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The time spent with his grand- and great-grandchildren was deeply cherished.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; children: Tim (Jo) and Tammy (Mike) Dahle and Todd (Lory); grandchildren: Tony, Ryan, Chelsea (Dustin) Lee, Alexia (Tom) Bablick, Emily (Justin) Parker, Shelby, Chase and Royce; great-grandchildren: Daylen, Avery, Olivia, Chloe, Bryce, Karlie, Drew, Piper and Lincoln; siblings: Michael Ullom, Danny Ullom and Lois Stellrecht; nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brotherThomas Ullom; sister Diana Silvus; and son-in-law Karl Bakker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 28, 2025, at Timberland Free Lutheran with Pastor Tim Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Shell Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bryce Bablick, Chase Ullom, Daylen Parker, Dustin Lee, Justin Parker, Tom Bablick and Royce Ullom. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Skinner Funeral Home in Shell Lake, and one hour before the service.
