Jerry Van Young, age 78, of De Soto, Missouri, passed away on September 15, 2025, at Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis. Jerry was born in Harrison, AR, on June 22, 1947, along with his twin sister, Judith (Young) Casey. Judy was born first and swears that Jerry kicked her out. He was a one-of-a-kind guy who loved his family, friends, and loved to party. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. For most of his adult life, he was an independent truck driver. In 1988, he and his late wife Shirley moved their young family to De Soto, Missouri, where he managed a timeshare resort, Jefferson Resort. After retirement, he raised some chickens, a stray dog, a couple of cats, fed deer and birds, mowed, picked up limbs and went to Walmart every Monday morning. He is survived by: His Children- Son, Ashley Young (Lisa), Son, Michael "Rancher" Young (Miracle), and daughter, Jessica Young (Steve). His grandchildren, Grayson and Emma Young, and Elo and Aiden Bauer. His Siblings, brother, Ernest Young, and sister, Judith Casey. His in-laws, Glen and Sandra (Stillwell) Holley Also survived by a niece, Kim Gilley (Randy), and nephews, Simon Young (Jennifer) and Chris Casey (Linda Jo). He was preceded in death by: Wife- Shirley (Stillwell) Young, Father -Joe Young, Mother- Eunice (Wear) Young, Brother- Donald Young. Also preceded in death by many relatives and dear friends. Graveside Service- Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Jefferson Barracks' National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
