Our beloved former lieutenant Jerry Wallace peacefully left us on September 4, 2024, at 3:23 in the afternoon surrounded by family and friends. Jerry’s passion for his family, friends, and church family was shown through his love of creating things out of wood. He was proud of service to his country in the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Lula Wallace, five brothers, Ernest Wallace Jr., Alvin Wallace, Frank Wallace, Alton Wallace, Sam Wallace and two sisters, Dee Wallace Kelly and Nell Wallace Pierce, and two stepchildren, Charles Hamilton and Tammy Langley Desper.
Loved and missed by his wife, Becky Wallace, five children and two stepchildren, Mark Cloud and Sandy Cloud, Michelle Wallace Newsom and TJ Peacock, Chasity Wallace Hamilton and son-in-law/stepson Chris Hamilton, Jerilane Wallace Rushing and Robert Rushing, Ernie Wallace, Shane Langley and Jenifier Langley, and daughter-in-law Melanie Burnham Hamilton. One brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Macky Wallace. He is loved by a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Michael Hamilton, Dusty Newsom, Micheal Rawls Jr., Riley Rushing, Josh Wallace, TJ Peacock, Shane Langley, and Gavin Langley.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and again on Sunday from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. A funeral service will be Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 3:00pm from the chapel of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Burial will follow in Thornhill Cemetery.
