Jerry Francis Willis, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away June 17, 2024 at the age of 84.
He was born on February 12, 1940 in Horton Kansas to Homer and Mary Katherine Guier Willis. Jerry was raised on a farm 1 mile west of Willis, Kansas. Where he spent time with his family and developed a strong work ethic.
He received his education and graduated from Willis High school. Jerry then went on to serve in the National Guard and the U.S. Navy. He worked for TWA/AA for 35 years as a dedicated mechanic and retired in 2003.
Jerry and Charlene were married 41 years prior to Charlene’s passing in 2022. They both enjoyed life to its fullest by giving of themselves to family and friends.
Jerry was an avid golfer, and found great joy in being a Marshal for Tiffany Springs Golf Club. He enjoyed spending winters in Mission, Texas and was very fond of the warmth and community. He was also a dedicated member of the Masons and served as a Past Master in 1980 of Cecile Daylight Lodge # 305.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife: Charlene Boan Willis, brothers: Jim Willis, (Justine), and twin brother Jack Willis, sisters: Joan Streeter (R.C. Streeter) and Mary Jane Lockwood ( Ralph Leon Lockwood), step son: James Locascio, step daughter: Lora Locascio.
He is survived by, step son: Russell (Brenda) Locascio, step daughter: Kathleen (Mike) Speigelhalter, sister-in-law-: Zelma Willis, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren, generations of nieces and nephews. Jerry will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services to honor Jerry’s life will be held on June 25th , at Platte Woods United Methodist Church.
The church is located at, 7310 NW. Prairie View Road, Platte Woods, MO. 64151
With a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00
Funeral Service from 11:00 – 12:00
