Jerry Lee Winterbower, 67, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 31, 2025 with family by his side. Jerry was born on August 11, 1957 to Virginia and Clarence Robert "Bob" Winterbower. Growing up with five younger siblings, Jerry sought peace and quiet in the US Army after high school. After fulfilling his commitment to his country and receiving an Honorable Discharge, Jerry took time to travel and worked in Florida for a while before joining the Navy. Jerry spent his later years playing guitar, writing songs and poems, enjoying time with friends and family, and eating at The Brick - his favorite place.

Jerry will be remembered as a generous man who believed in the Lord and saw goodness in all people.

He is survived by his siblings Yukonna Diane Gable of San Angelo, TX, Duane Davidson and Donna Hogan of Moberly, MO, Charisma Petrie and Charles Davidson of Columbia, MO. He is also survived by six nieces and a nephew; Briana Gable, Preston Potter, Victoria Petrie (Jordan), Paula Hogan (Tiffaney), Natashia Jones, Catrina Gable, and Madeline Hogan as well as several great nieces.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marion Winterbower.

Words of comfort and support may be share with the family at a visitation to be held Monday August 11,2025, 5:00pm to 6:00pm at the Cater Funeral Home.

Memorial funeral services and military honors, honoring and celebrating Jerry's life will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 11am at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery Shelter, Jacksonville. Inurnment to follow.
