Samuel A. Winterbower, 82 Clark, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 29, 1942, the son of the late Clarence and Mary (Bell) Winterbower. On February 2, 1962, he was united in marriage to Fern (Smith) Winterbower.
In addition to his wife Fern of 63 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Tim Winterbower of Middle Grove, MO and Tom Winterbower and his wife Carla of Clark, MO; one sister Hannah Qualls of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren Tricia Robinson and her husband Jerred and Colby Darwent and her husband Craig; three great grandchildren Devin, Tyson and Braxton; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends; and he was a grandfather figure to Bryan Perry. In addition to his parents, three brothers, one sister, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law preceded him in death.
Samuel first worked at National Refractories as a brick setter for many years. Later he worked as a janitor for Sturgeon Public Schools and finally he owned his own lawn care business. He was a member of N.R.A. and The Truth. He enjoyed fishing, camping, remote-controlled airplanes, and he loved working in the yard, especially mowing. Samuel loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and Sunday dinners with his family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon, MO. Interment will be in the Chapel Grove Cemetery near Clark, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240.
