Jess R. Gourd, 60, of Clearfield, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 in his daughter’s home in Creston, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at Jess’s residence in Clearfield, Iowa on August 31st beginning at 2pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Jess R. Gourd was born in Paso Robles, California on February 14, 1964 to Jesse Gourd and Lois (Wainwright) Gourd. Jess was raised and educated in California, beginning his family there as well. Jess and his three daughters moved to Corning, Iowa in 2004 to be closer to his sister, and later to Clearfield Iowa in 2021.
Jess enjoyed his occupation as a fabrication supervisor at Dalton AG from 2004- 2022. Most recently, Jess enjoyed his work at Boulders in Maryville Missouri, recycling tires. When Jess was not working or talking about how much he enjoyed his work, he could be found attending tractor pulls or tinkering as a mechanic on old cars.
Jess was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Ronald Gourd & Lois Evelyn (Wainwright) Gourd; and his grandparents.
Left to cherish Jess’ memory are his daughters: Michelle (Pat) Gould of Newport, North Carolina, Jesse Gourd (Frank Mills) of Marathon, New York, Johnny Gourd (Michael Camacho) of Creston, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Lucas, Nathaniel, Khloe, June, Brystol, Cooper, Lexi and Letty; sister; Mary Gourd of Omaha, Nebraska; two nephews: Chris Gourd and Tim Gourd; 3 nieces; Jessica Leal, Frannie Hemming & Ashlee Gourd. Jess will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
