Monday, November 16, 1936 – Sunday, May 12, 2024
Jesse Clifton Bellflower, 87, of Chauncey, GA, passed away on May 12, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta. He was born on November 16, 1936, in Helena, Georgia.
Jesse retired from Union Camp/International Paper Company after 35+ years as an equipment operator. During his time there he had a strong work ethic. After retirement he worked part time at Golden Peanuts and Sammie Boney Logging. He was a nature enthusiast who found joy in the great outdoors, especially through fishing and hunting. He enjoyed working in his shop and yard until his recent illness.
He is survived by his caregiver/special cousin, Mildred Jones of McRae-Helena, niece, Glenda Mullis of Eastman, several nieces and nephews, his beloved fur babies Chewy & Daisy, and his caregiver/special Friend, David Towns. Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Mae Manning Bellflower, parents, Melton and Rosa Lee Bellflower and his sister, Estelle Coleman.
A visitation will be held for friends and family on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 2 P.M. - 3 P.M. in the chapel of Lowes Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3 P.M. in the chapel. He will be laid to rest at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Alvin Lewis will officiate assisted by Raymond Bellflower.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
