Born on Monday, October 18, 1937, in Tannehill, Louisiana, Mr. Brewer attended Winnfield High School and proudly served in the Louisiana National Guard. He was employed for many years with Continental Can and later retired from the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office.
In his younger days, he loved horseback riding, and in later years he found joy in the simple pleasures of feeding and caring for his cows and farm work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Jasper Brewer and Nita Fox Brewer, and by his beloved wife, Gloria Taylor Brewer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Michelle Brewer (Chuck Ellers) and Katrecia McDow (Randy); grandson, Jonathan McDow; and great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Karalynne, and Travis.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Zion Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Danny Keyes officiating. Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 20th, from 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM.
