On November 26, 2025, Jesse Cornwell left this world. Born to Wayne Andrew and Elaine (Burris) Cornwell on August 31, 1965, Jesse graduated from Wheeler High School in 1985 before going into the military.
From 1987 to 1993, Jesse valiantly served his country in the US Navy where he served in Desert Storm, completed Ship Board Security Engagement Tactics, and achieved Boatswain Mate 3rd class before he was honorably discharged in July of 1993.
When he returned to civilian life, Jesse began working in maintenance. He worked various places during his 30 years in the profession. In his free time, Jesse could be found playing with R.C. cars and planes. He enjoyed trains, fishing, cooking, and going to farmers markets.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann (Burnside) Cornwell, who was by his side when he passed. Also surviving are his step-children, Carla (Jason) Beard, and Aric (Morgan) Deno; his children, Oliver and Melissa Cornwell; his grandchildren, Elijah and Preston Beard, and Olivia and Carter Deno; his sister, Loretta (Rick) Dubson; his aunt, Mary (Bud) Gulley; and his best friend, Ron (Deb) Schultz.
In death, Jesse joins his parents, as well as his brothers, Wayne Cornwell Jr. and Steven Cornwell.
Jesse will be remembered for his hard work, dedication, and service to his country.
A funeral service to commemorate Jesse’s life will be held at Gerts, Windler & Keller Funeral Home ~ Brook Chapel on Thursday, December 4th, 2025. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm (CT), with the funeral service to immediately follow.A private family graveside will be held at a later date to inter Jesse’s remains.
