Kay Frances Cornwell, 81, of Bridgman passed away on Monday January 26, 2026 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, Saint Joseph, Michigan.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church 9650 Church St, Bridgman, MI 49106. Friends may meet with the family from 10–11 AM on Friday at the church, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Kay was born on December 6, 1944 in Benton Harbor, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Leona (Baker) Zook. On May 1, 1965 she married Derry Cornwell, and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2024. Kay retired from Dane Systems and Weldun International. She started the “VIP” Visually Impaired Person support group.
Survivors include children: Paul (Ruth) Cornwell and Reegan (Phil) Albright; four grandchildren: Kaitlin (Shawn) Goulooze, Kari (James) Wells, PJ Albright and Paige Albright; and two great grandchildren: Emmett and Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her sister: Sharon Hickmott; and brother: Robert Zook
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
