Jesse Charles Dent Jr., age 80, died peacefully at home in Longview, Texas on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Jesse (JC) was born December 7, 1944 in Kilgore, Texas. He was preceded in death by his fathers Jesse Dent Sr/Vernon Oliver Dent; mother Mary Holder Dent; brothers Billy Ray Dent, Michael Dent, Robert Dent, Vernon Wayne Dent, Richard Dent.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sondra Collier Dent; son Brad Dent of Fort Worth; son Stacy Dent and wife Nikki of Frisco; stepdaughter Tammy Childress and husband Wesley of Hilltop Lakes; stepdaughter Cathy Towery Lewis and husband Dennis of Lake Palestine; brother Ralph Dent of Niceville FL; brother Lance Dent of Tyler; sister Rita Hudgins of Lake Cherokee; grandchildren Maggie Dent, Savannah Dent and Ryder Dent; great grandson Memphis Aslin; Over 15 step grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Jesse worked in the oilfield industry for 40 plus years, retiring in 2015. During his retirement years, he liked to play golf and visit two of his favorite places on earth - Shreveport LA and Branson MO. Jesse never met a stranger and made many lasting friendships over the years with his ability to strike up a conversation any time, any place. He was always willing to drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need. This kind, gentle man will be missed by all. During this time of mourning (and beyond), the family would like to encourage everyone to let their friends and family know how much they mean to them. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Kindful Health for everthing they did for Jesse and the rest of us during this difficult time. Their dedication and compassion was amazing.
