Jesse Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel from Jan. 6 to Jan. 7, 2026.
Alton Jesse Hall was born on January 17, 1955, and blessed this world with a life marked by faith, intelligence, creativity, and deep devotion to family. A precocious youngster, he truly came into his own on July 7, 1974, when he married the love of his life, Rhonda Kay Powell. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and commitment, raising four daughters: Tracy Michelle, Natalie Ann, Julie Marie, and Jessica Danielle.
Known to most as Jesse from an early age, he was the leader of his home and family, stewarding them in the ways of the Lord and the Catholic faith. He was an ingenious man who was able to fix nearly anything mechanical, but his gifts went far beyond tools and machines. Jesse had a rare ability to offer guidance, heal hearts, and bring comfort during times of trouble and distress. Honest and sincere, he gave truthful advice in a loving way, always striving to be strong when needed and gentle when called to be.
Jesse followed the Lord through his works, deeds, faith, and grace. Highly intelligent and largely self-taught, much like Thomas Edison, he possessed an intrinsic motivation and a lifelong yearning for knowledge. His interests spanned engineering, mathematics, science, and history, and his curiosity never waned. His passions included sailing, fast cars, motorcycles, camping, road trips, and adventure. Music was a necessity in his life; he carefully dissected lyrics, always searching for deeper meaning and intention. A true jack-of-all-trades, no job was too small, no task insurmountable, and no love withheld.
Jesse spent his working years laboring at General Motors, persevering through a teenage injury so he could provide for his wife and children. He willingly did without, living frugally so his family could know comfort, happiness, and joy. His talents were vast, his creativity boundless, and much of it still waiting to be discovered. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Though it feels like a thousand days to those left behind, his loved ones take comfort in faith, knowing that for him it is only days until they meet again.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Kay Hall; children, Tracy Michelle Daugherty, Julie Marie Hailey, Jessica Danielle Johnson; grandchildren, Dereck Wayne Townsend, Matthew Jesse Townsend, Brianna Paige Harris, Nathaniel Conner Harris, Ella Hope Daugherty, Andrew James Stinson; siblings, Clarance Keith Hall, Orlena Elizabeth Brockie, Rebecca Faye Meigs, Johanna Micah Hall, Mary Ann Wagoner; sons-in-law, Brian Scott Harris, Andy Hailey, Jeremy Johnson, as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
He is preceded by, his parents, Alton Edward Hall and Rosita Faye Hall; Frank Meigs, Marsha Engert, and Natalie Ann Harris.
