In the town of Stockton, in the golden state of California, was born a spirited gentleman by the name of Jesse Lagang, who, on the ninth day of May in 1954, blessed this earth. Alas, on the twenty-sixth day of August in the year two thousand and twenty-five, in
Peoria, Arizona, did he break the hearts of us all leaving behind a tapestry of memories rich and vibrant. Jesse, a man filled with love and tenderness, was joined in holy matrimony to his dedicated wife, Loida, whose love knew no bounds.
Together, they were blessed with: a firstborn daughter whose grace and strength mirrored his own, and three sons, bold and true, each a testament to their father's spirit. The legacy of Jesse is carried forward with twelve grandchildren, each a star in the firmament of his joy, and the infinite support of his son-in-law and two daughters-in-law, who stood steadfast by his side. His quest for knowledge led him to the University of the Philippines, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Jesse's life was a dedicated service; he spent twenty-one years in military duty with the Air Force, from which he retired with honor and distinction. After retiring from the Air Force, he moved forward to Sonora Quest as a lab technician where he decided to take on more adventures at the VA Hospital for five years. The brave soul conquered the lab of Luke AFB Medical Center for another 18 years as a Chemistry Supervisor where he would teach numerous students (hopefully practical skills) and life skills along the way. A devout Catholic, Jesse was far from perfect but lived in faith and his heart ever lifted by the love of Christ.
His interests were as varied as the hues of a splendid sunset; he was a fervent supporter of the Arizona Cardinals, and though in recent years they kept us on the edge for a "wait till next year", he shared this passion with his grandsons. Traveling with his family, he spread love and laughter as, with his church group, he embarked on many adventures, forging bonds tempered with sweat, tears, and abundant merriment. Jesse's time with his grandchildren, the apples of his eyes, was a treasure beyond measure, for in their presence, he saw a world where flaws were, but figments and love reigned supreme. He was a master of wit, and with it, he would often taunt family and friends, leaving them with laughter. To describe Jesse Lagang, one would say he was loving, for his heart was an inexhaustible well of affection; funny; and analytical, for his mind was sharp as a blade, cutting to the heart of matters with ease. Let it be known that Jesse Lagang lived a life with love and laughter, with a mind as clever as a fox and a heart as great as the heavens.
Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit lives on in the memories of those who loved him, and his legacy will carry on through his wife who has been by his side for better or worse for over 46 years, his children he has stood by through coachable moments, the imprinted traditions carried on through his grandchildren, the love and acceptance he shared with his daughters in law and son in law, and memories will spread like dandelion seeds through all the lives he touched because Jesse's love for us all was nothing but perfect.
