Jesse Martinez, 63, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family Saturday, October 18, 2025. Visitation will be 9 AM until 9 PM Friday with a vigil service at 7 PM at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 11 AM Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Jesse was born on April 7, 1962 in Howard County to Paula Trejo Martinez and Victor Martinez, Sr. He was lifetime resident of Howard County and a member Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Jesse farmed for 47 years in Howard County. His hobbies include welding and enjoyed going the beach while visiting North Carolina. He loved dancing and listening to music but most of all spending time with his grandchildren, nephews and nieces, "Big Time". Loved making his family laugh with his jokes, you could hear his contagious laugh from afar.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 42 years: Janie Martinez of Big Spring; son: Philip Martinez of Big Spring; daughter: Senior Chief Petty Officer Jessica Martinez of Moyock, N.C; son: Drew Martinez of Big Spring; brother: 1 Mike Martinez (Carmen) of Forney, TX; 5 sisters: Lolly Martinez (Chato) of Big Spring, Maria Rodriguez of Big Spring; Isabell Haro (Bobby) of Flowermound, TX, Gloria Munoz (Johnny) of Big Spring, & Janie Martinez of Big Spring; 8 grandchildren: Phillip, Jaedyn, Tarrynne, Mason, Daisey, Justice, Erin and Maejor; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Martinez, Sr. & Paula Trejo Martinez; siblings: Victor Martinez, Jr., Rosa Flores, Ruben Martinez, & David Martinez.
Pallbearers are Jaedyn Martinez, Mason Martinez, Johnny Rodriguez, Raymond Castillo, Timothy Marquez and Sammy Villareal, Jr.
